Ben Affleck directs and stars in this 2012 thriller based on true events from the Iran hostage crisis. When militants storm the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979, six Americans escape and take shelter at the Canadian ambassador’s residence. As the Iranian revolution intensifies, the CIA recruits Tony Mendez, their top extraction specialist, to devise an audacious rescue operation. Mendez’s plan is so unconventional that it requires help from Hollywood itself. Alongside Affleck, the cast includes Bryan Cranston, Alan Arkin, John Goodman, and Clea DuVall.

This is a single-disc Blu-ray release from Warner Bros. with a runtime of two hours and rated R for language and some violent images. The film remained largely unknown to the public until details of the covert operation were declassified years after it occurred.
