Apple Venus Volume 1

CD Details

XTC’s 1999 album Apple Venus Volume 1 marks the art rock duo’s return after nearly seven years away from recording, with Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding crafting an orchestral work brimming with lush arrangements and nature-inspired lyrics. Drawing influence from the intricate soundscapes of Pet Sounds and Sgt. Pepper, the album layers cellos, flutes, and other classical instruments beneath whimsical pop melodies and pastoral imagery. Standout tracks like “Easter Theatre,” “Greenman,” and “River Of Orchids” showcase the band’s gift for blending experimental production with accessible songwriting, while “Your Dictionary” provides a rare moment of edge within the album’s predominantly serene landscape.

This CD was released on TVT Records and contains eleven tracks including “I’d Like That,” “Knights In Shining Karma,” “Frivolous Tonight,” “Fruit Nut,” “I Can’t Own Her,” “Harvest Festival,” and “The Last Balloon.” A hand-inspected copy of this sophisticated pop work awaits you in our used media collection.
