Annie is a 1982 musical comedy-drama directed by John Huston, based on the stage musical by Martin Charnin and Thomas Meehan. The film stars Albert Finney as the wealthy Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks, Carol Burnett as the stern Miss Hannigan who runs the orphanage, and Ann Reinking in a supporting role. The story follows a young orphan girl who believes her parents left her at the facility by mistake. When Warbucks decides to invite an orphan into his mansion for publicity, Annie gets her chance at a new life. Despite her newfound comfort in his grand home, she remains determined to find her missing parents, leading Warbucks to offer a reward that attracts numerous imposters.
