Andrei Rublev is a 1966 Russian biographical drama directed by Andrei Tarkovsky that follows the spiritual and artistic journey of a revered 15th-century icon painter. Starring Anatoli Solonitsyn, the film traces the monk’s inner conflict as he navigates a violent medieval world, witnessing brutality that shakes his faith and artistic practice.
