Age of Innocence is a 1977 British drama directed by Alan Bridges and written by Bruce Martin and Ratch Wallace. Set in a small Canadian town during the early 1920s, the film follows Henry Buchanan, an English schoolteacher played by David Warner, whose arrival disrupts the conservative community. Henry’s outspoken pacifist views and his revelation as a World War I conscientious objector provoke outrage among the townspeople. His growing friendships with the wealthy divorcee Mrs. Boswell, portrayed by Honor Blackman, and Clarissa, the daughter of the town’s most influential citizen, intensify the conflict and threaten to unravel the social fabric of this quiet place.
