Silvio Soldini directed this 1980 Italian comedy-romance about a bookshop owner living with unusual electromagnetic abilities that create electrical disturbances wherever she goes. As she contends with mysterious family secrets and the complications of romance, the film weaves together magical realism with humor and heart. Emilio Solfrizzi, Giuseppe Battiston, and Licia Maglietta star in this tale that balances the everyday struggles of middle age with the extraordinary.
