Accepted is a 2006 comedy directed by Steve Pink and written by Adam Cooper, Bill Collage, and Mark Perez. When a high school slacker gets rejected by every college he applies to, he creates a fake university called South Harmon Institute of Technology on abandoned property near his hometown to appease his parents. His best friend builds a website for the phony school that becomes unexpectedly popular, attracting hundreds of other rejected applicants who actually enroll. Rather than expose the deception, the protagonist allows students to design their own curriculum, unaware that the fake college is interfering with expansion plans at a nearby prestigious institution. The film stars Adam Herschman, Ann Cusack, Anthony Heald, Blake Lively, Columbus Short, and Hannah Marks.
