Abraxas

CD Details

Abraxas is the 1970 second album by Santana, the San Francisco-based group led by guitarist Carlos Santana. Following their breakthrough debut, the band pushed their musical range even further, blending blues, rock, and Latin influences into a cohesive sound. The album features two major hit singles that showcase this diversity: “Black Magic Woman,” a Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac composition reimagined through a rock lens, and “Oye Como Va,” a Tito Puerte Latin dance classic. Beyond these standouts, tracks like “Gypsy Queen,” “Singing Winds, Crying Beasts,” and “Samba Pa Ti” demonstrate the group’s expanding musical palette and Santana’s growing interest in Eastern musical sensibilities.

This CD release contains the complete album across one disc, featuring all ten tracks including “Incident At Neshabur,” “Se A Cabo,” “Mother’s Daughter,” “Hope You’re Feeling Better,” and “El Nicoya.” Owning this used copy gives you access to one of rock’s most influential fusion albums at a fraction of retail cost.
