A Turtle’s Tale: Sammy’s Adventures is a 2010 animated adventure film directed by Ben Stassen and Mimi Maynard. The story follows Sammy, a sea turtle hatched on a Baja California beach in 1959, as he embarks on an epic fifty-year journey across the world’s oceans. Alongside his best friend Ray, Sammy faces both natural obstacles and human-made dangers while pursuing his dream of global exploration. Throughout his voyage, he never forgets Shelly, a turtle he rescued on his first day and loves from afar. Featuring the voice talents of Anthony Anderson, Ed Begley Jr., Isabelle Fuhrman, Jenny McCarthy, and Kathy Griffin, the film weaves an entertaining story with an important message about the environmental threats facing sea turtles.
