A Song for the Season is a 1999 made-for-TV drama directed by Bobby Roth and written by Darrah Cloud. When superintendent Cal and his niece Fern relocate to Bethlehem, Kentucky, they struggle to embrace the holiday spirit in their new home with Fern’s grandfather. Cal faces the challenge of restoring the school district’s finances, while Fern resists another uprooting. Their outlook shifts when they meet Lily Waite, the school’s music teacher. Fern rediscovers her love of music, a passion she shared with her late mother, and Cal finds himself drawn to Lily. As their lives improve, Cal’s professional responsibilities create a conflict that threatens to upend everything they’ve gained.
