A Nightmare on Elm Street is a 2010 horror remake directed by Samuel Bayer from a screenplay by Eric Heisserer, Wes Craven, and Wesley Strick. Jackie Earle Haley stars as Freddy Krueger, a scarred killer who invades the nightmares of a group of teenagers played by Kyle Gallner and Rooney Mara. As the teens experience shared nightmares of the disfigured man wielding a bladed glove, they begin dying in the waking world, forcing them to uncover the truth behind their tormentor before sleep becomes fatal.
