Lucio Fulci directs and stars in this 1990 Italian horror-comedy as a filmmaker whose own grotesque creations have begun to haunt him. Plagued by the disturbing imagery from his career in extreme cinema, Fulci seeks help from his psychiatrist, Egon Swharz, played by David L. Thompson. Under hypnosis, the doctor manipulates Fulci into acting out his own twisted fantasies, aiming to destroy the master’s reputation. This meta-horror satire offers a darkly comedic exploration of the psychological toll that making visceral horror films can exact on an artist.

This Blu-ray release from CAV Distributing presents the film in 1080p HD, restored from the original 16mm negative, with both uncompressed English and Italian audio tracks. The single disc runs 93 minutes and carries an R rating. Bonus features include a 45-minute documentary examining Fulci’s late-period work with contributions from screenwriter Antonio Tentori and film critics, plus a live performance by composer Fabio Frizzi and the theatrical trailer.
