This four-film collection brings together period romance dramas spanning different historical eras and continents. The Affair of the Necklace, directed by Charles Shyer and starring Hilary Swank and Jonathan Pryce, centers on pre-Revolutionary France and features Simon Baker alongside the ensemble cast. Dangerous Liaisons, The Painted Veil, and Silk round out the set, each exploring themes of passion, desire, and intrigue against richly detailed historical backdrops. Together these films showcase romance and scandal across centuries.

All four films are presented in widescreen on a single DVD from Warner Bros., rated R. The Affair of the Necklace includes director commentary, additional scenes, two featurettes about the film’s creation and design, cast highlights, and a theatrical trailer. Each film offers subtitles in multiple languages including English, French, and Spanish. Grab this collection of classic period dramas at a fraction of the cost of purchasing them separately.
