21 is a 2008 crime thriller directed by Robert Luketic and based on Ben Mezrich’s book about real events. Jim Sturgess stars as Ben Campbell, a brilliant M.I.T. student struggling to secure a scholarship to Harvard Medical School. To fund his education, he joins a secret group of mathematically gifted classmates led by a charismatic professor played by Kevin Spacey. Together they master card counting techniques to win big at blackjack tables in Las Vegas. While the team enjoys wealth and excitement on weekends in Sin City, Ben grows increasingly conflicted about the ethics of their scheme, especially as a sharp casino security officer played by Laurence Fishburne closes in on them. The cast also includes Jacob Pitts, Josh Gad, Aaron Yoo, and Kate Bosworth as a fellow counter.
