John Herzfeld wrote and directed this 1996 crime-comedy thriller set in Los Angeles’s San Fernando Valley. When a mild-mannered hit man and an icy professional killer carry out a murder of an athlete, the crime sets off a chain reaction that pulls together a colorful cast of valley residents. Danny Aiello, James Spader, Eric Stoltz, Charlize Theron, Glenne Headly, and Greg Cruttwell lead an ensemble navigating unexpected intersections of crime, ambition, and survival across two frantic days.

Released on DVD by MGM, this single-disc edition runs 104 minutes and carries an R rating. Though it initially flew under the radar in theaters, the film developed a devoted following through home video releases, praised for its clever writing, eccentric characters, and the chemistry of its talented cast. Grab this used copy and experience an underrated gem that captures the strange energy of California crime cinema.
