Superman: The Animated Series, Volume 2 continues the animated saga of the Man of Steel from Krypton, who protects Metropolis from threats both familiar and new. Airing in 1997 on Kids’ WB, this second season shifts focus to the rogues gallery surrounding the hero. Returning villains like Metallo and Lex Luthor face off against Superman alongside fresh adversaries including Bizarro, Livewire, and the mischievous interdimensional trickster Mr. Mxyzptlk. A major highlight is the three-part crossover “World’s Finest,” which brings Batman into Metropolis as the two heroes team up against the Joker, Harley Quinn, and Lex Luthor in a dangerous alliance. The voice cast includes Tim Daly as Superman, with direction by Bruce W. Timm, Curt Geda, and Dan Riba.
