Secrets Are Sinister

CD Details

Longwave’s fourth album, released in 2008, marks the alternative rock band’s return following a three-year break. Recorded primarily in their Brooklyn studio with assistance from producers Peter Katis and Dave Fridmann, Secrets Are Sinister showcases an evolved sonic approach that expands on the group’s signature atmospheric guitar work while introducing a heavier, more aggressive edge. Opening track “Sirens In The Deep Sea” sets the tone with layered instrumentation that builds from delicate interplay into a powerful surge of drums and distorted guitars, establishing the album’s dynamic range across its ten songs.

This CD on Original Signal Recordings contains the complete album, including standout tracks like “Satellites,” “Eyes Like Headlights,” and the title song “Secrets Are Sinister.” The band balances their trademark dreamy textures with a louder, noisier production style that drives the material forward with greater intensity than their previous work.
