Rudolph: The Red-Nosed Reindeer is a stop-motion animated television special that premiered in 1964. Directed by Larry Roemer and written by Johnny Marks, Robert May, and Romeo Muller, the special stars Billie Mae Richards as Rudolph, with Burl Ives as the narrator Sam the Snowman. The story follows a young reindeer with a distinctive glowing red nose who, after being excluded from reindeer games, embarks on an adventure with Hermey, an elf who dreams of becoming a dentist, and Yukon Cornelius, a gruff prospector. Together they encounter the Abominable Snowman and discover an island inhabited by misfit toys. Rudolph sets out to convince Santa to help these forgotten playthings, leading to a Christmas Eve journey that changes everything.
