Pay It Forward is a 2000 drama from Warner Bros. directed by Mimi Leder and written by Catherine Ryan Hyde and Leslie Dixon. The film stars Haley Joel Osment as Trevor McKinney, a twelve-year-old student who conceives an ambitious plan to transform the world through acts of kindness. When his social studies teacher assigns the class to identify a problem in society and devise a solution, Trevor takes the challenge seriously and creates a simple but powerful concept: instead of repaying a good deed, recipients must perform acts of kindness for three other people. Helen Hunt and Jay Mohr round out the cast in this exploration of social responsibility and human connection.
