Monarch of the Glen is a British comedy-drama series from 2000 set in the Scottish Highlands, based on Compton Mackenzie’s novels. Archie MacDonald, a London restaurateur, receives an unexpected summons home where he learns he must legally assume the role of laird of Glenbogle, his family’s 400-year-old estate facing financial hardship. Reluctant at first, Archie gradually becomes invested in saving the struggling property and connecting with its colorful residents, including his estranged father Hector and his determined mother Molly. The cast features Alastair Mackenzie, Richard Briers, Susan Hampshire, and Alexander Morton, with writing by Michael Chaplin and Niall Leonard.

This is the first season on one DVD disc, containing all eight episodes with a total runtime of six hours and twenty-nine minutes. Rated TV-14, it was produced by the BBC. A used copy from us means you own the physical media without the new-release price tag.
