Alfred Hitchcock directed this 1944 war drama from Twentieth Century Fox about eight survivors stranded in a lifeboat after their ship is torpedoed by a German U-boat during World War II. The group includes a journalist, a tough seaman played by John Hodiak, a nurse portrayed by Mary Anderson, and an injured sailor, among others. Their struggle for survival becomes more complicated when they rescue a ninth passenger-the Nazi captain responsible for sinking their vessel. Trapped together in close quarters, the survivors must grapple with questions of trust, morality, and human nature as they face the elements and each other.

This single-disc DVD special edition runs 97 minutes and carries an Approved rating. Directed by Hitchcock from a screenplay by Hitchcock, Jo Swerling, and John Steinbeck, the film features an ensemble cast including Canada Lee, Heather Angel, Henry Hull, and Hume Cronyn.
