Set in the summer of 1989, The Boy follows nine-year-old Ted Henley, a disturbed child left largely to his own devices at the Mt. Vista Motel, a remote mountain resort where he and his father John work. With his mother gone and his father withdrawn into depression, Ted finds himself unsupervised and free to explore his darker impulses. When a drifter named William Colby arrives at the motel, Ted becomes fascinated by him, and the two form an unsettling bond that pushes the boy toward a chilling transformation. Directed by Craig William Macneill and written by Macneill and Clay McLeod Chapman, this psychological horror-thriller stars Jared Breeze as Ted, David Morse as his father, and Rainn Wilson as the mysterious stranger.
