The Corrs brought their acoustic arrangements to MTV Unplugged in late 1999, recording this session at Ardmore Studios near Dublin. The Irish sibling group performed a mix of their own material alongside carefully chosen covers, demonstrating their musicianship beyond their pop hits. Newly written tracks like “Radio” and “At Your Side” sit alongside reimagined versions of familiar songs, plus covers of R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts,” Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing,” and Jimmy McCarty’s “No Frontiers,” all enhanced by orchestral string arrangements.
This CD contains 14 tracks recorded for the MTV Unplugged broadcast, with production by Mitchell Froom and mixing by Bob Clearmountain. The acoustic arrangements give fresh life to songs like “What Can I Do,” which benefits from a stripped-down approach compared to its dance-remix single version.
