Under The Sun is the original soundtrack to Cyrus Sutton’s documentary film, released in 2008. Shawn Lee composed and produced the album alongside three Australian acts: Afro Dizzi Act, Band of Frequencies, and Low Pressure Sound System. The project blends surf-inspired funk with rootsy grooves, featuring Lee’s signature funky rhythms paired with twangy guitars and harmonicas. Afro Dizzi Act brings Afro-beat tinged material to the mix, while Low Pressure Sound System contributes their live jam sensibility. Band of Frequencies, a side project featuring members of Afro Dizzi Act and surfer Dave Rastovich, adds heavier guitar work that weaves together psychedelia, roots, rock, and soul influences into a cohesive, hazy sound.
