Topaz is a 1999 contemporary jazz album by The Rippingtons featuring guitarist Russ Freeman. Drawing inspiration from the New Mexico arts community of Taos and southwestern landscapes, Freeman and the band blend fusion and jazz with accessible melodies and instrumental storytelling. The album explores flamenco and Spanish musical traditions within a smooth jazz framework, showcasing Freeman’s skills as both a guitarist and composer.

This single CD was released on Sony Legacy and contains ten tracks including Taos, Summer Lovers, Under a Spanish Moon, Temple of the Sun, and Snakedance, with a total runtime of approximately 48 minutes.
