Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 psychological horror film stars Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance, a writer who accepts a position as winter caretaker at the remote Overlook Hotel in Colorado, bringing along his wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall) and son Danny (Danny Lloyd). Hoping the isolation will help him overcome writer’s block, Jack instead finds himself trapped in a nightmare as the hotel’s sinister history begins to surface.
