Vincent Ward directed this 1988 New Zealand fantasy-adventure that transports viewers to 1348 England during the height of the Black Death. A young boy’s prophetic dreams guide a group of villagers seeking salvation from the plague’s devastation. When they discover a mysterious cave and tunnel through it, they emerge in the modern world, confronted by the bewildering sights and sounds of twentieth-century civilization including cars, television, and technology beyond their comprehension. The villagers must navigate this alien landscape and find their way back home before their village is lost to the pestilence.

This single-disc DVD release runs 92 minutes and carries a PG rating from Circle Films. The cast includes Bruce Lyons, Chris Haywood, Hamish Gough, Marshall Napier, and Noel Appleby.
