Tom Brown’s Band From Dixieland recorded this jazz album in 1962, featuring the ensemble’s take on classic New Orleans jazz standards. Led by Brown on trombone and featuring Johnny Wiggs on trumpet, Harry Shields on clarinet, Stanley Mendelson on piano, Edmond Souchon on guitar, Sherwood Mangiapane on bass, and Eddie Tchantz on drums, the band performs a collection of early jazz favorites including “At The Jazz Band Ball,” “Heebie Jeebies,” “Fidgety Feet,” and “Tin Roof Blues.”
This single-disc CD release captures the authentic sound of traditional New Orleans jazz from one of the genre’s pioneering ensembles. Owning this used copy lets you experience classic jazz without the cost of a new release.
