Cocktail is a jazz album from vocalist Rose Colella, featuring her alongside guitarist Dan Effland, pianist Dan Murphy, bassist Joe Policastro, and drummer Mikel Avery, with saxophonist Chris Madsen and special guests Andy Brown on guitar and Paul Marinaro on vocals. Colella, a Chicago-based jazz performer who regularly appears at venues like The Jazz Showcase and The Green Mill, brings her training from Roosevelt University’s Jazz Studies program to this collection of standards and jazz interpretations.

This CD release showcases Colella’s sophisticated vocal approach in an intimate ensemble setting. A seasoned performer and educator who teaches jazz at Northwestern University and the Chicago Academy for the Arts, Colella draws inspiration from her grandmother Lola Bard, a 1930s vocalist who recorded with Bobby Hackett and The Original Dixieland Jazz Band.
