Her Greatest Hits: Songs Of Long Ago pairs four selections from Tapestry with eight deeper cuts from her later work, including the Marvin Gaye-influenced “Brother, Brother” and the jazzy “Jazzman.” King’s gift for melody, honed during her years as a Brill Building songwriter in the 1960s, remains evident throughout these pop and rock tracks.
