A Mile In His Shoes is a 2011 Canadian drama directed by William Dear, based on true events and the novel by Frank Nappi. When struggling minor league baseball coach Murph Murphy, played by Dean Cain, searches for new talent to turn his team around, he discovers Mickey Tussler, a young farmer with a remarkable gift for pitching. Mickey has Asperger’s Syndrome, and his parents initially resist allowing him to pursue baseball, but Murph persuades them that the opportunity could transform their son’s life. As Mickey joins the team, his presence does far more than improve their record on the field, inspiring his teammates and coaches in unexpected ways. This coming-of-age story follows Mickey’s journey to overcome obstacles and find where he truly belongs.
