300: Rise of an Empire is a 2014 action-fantasy film directed by Noam Murro from a screenplay by Frank Miller, Kurt Johnstad, and Zack Snyder. Sullivan Stapleton stars as Greek general Themistocles, who must rally the fractured city-states of Greece to defend against the massive invading Persian army commanded by the god-like Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and the fierce naval commander Artemesia (Eva Green). Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, and Callan Mulvey round out the cast in this sequel that expands the world of ancient warfare and political intrigue established by the original film.
