This the group’s 2nd CD that they have put out in the last 8 months. This time around, Steel Tropics has added a few different instruments to the group that gives the band a fresh new sound that the listener will hear right away.
The band’s debut CD, “Steel Tropics With Tom Liston” was so popular that they decided to record another CD right away. It was decided that they should do a Christmas CD that was tropical, yet sounded different than any other CD out there in the marketplace. They believe that they have come up with just that and more. This CD is already starting to create quite a buzz.
The group’s credits reads like a who’s who of stars. Some of people that the players in the group have performed with are: Chicago, Mel Torme, Cleo Laine, Freddie Hubbard, Patrice Rushen and Sting.

It’s an Island twist on Holiday favorites such as: Winter Wonderland, Jingle Bells, White Christmas and Frosty The Snowman to name just a few of the many selections heard here on this disc. Steel Tropics is made up of: Tom Liston on the Steel Drums, Chris Wabich on Drumset & Percussion and Anders Swanson on Acoustic Bass. Joining the group on this Holiday recording are Larry Koonse playing some amazing guitar, Brian Atkinson on the very melodic marimba, Tom’s brother Bill who does some beautiful flute & tin whistle work and Jackie Beery who lays down some groovy vocals. All of these performers are top-notch musicians and have shared the stage and recorded with literally a who’s who of stars.
