One of the many shows produced by Gene Autry’s Flying A Pictures, The Range Rider, stars Jock Mahoney as the square-dealing Range Rider, a wandering defender of justice. This action-packed and good natured series co-stars Dick Jones as Dick West and features many illustrious guest stars such as Lee Van Cleef, Denver Pyle, Sheb Wooley, Francis McDonald, Clayton Moore, Harry Lauter and Alan Hale Jr. in recurring roles. As was common in”oaters” of the time, even the horses received credit: Range Rider rode “Rawhide” and Dick rode “Lucky”. The 6’4″ Mahoney ws a former stunt man whose athletic skills became legendary as he performed his own, often difficult stunts on the show.
